Christmas in the Creek
Residents of Albany Creek are looking forward to this year’s Christmas in the Creek to be held at Jacaranda Park, 3rd December.
“This year the event will be our biggest yet with a great rock band, carol singing, free sausage sizzle and free gifts to the children by Santa.” Rotary Club Secretary Jayne Bates said today.
The fair will be led in carol singing by the wonderful Brisbane City Sounds choir and the very popular Delta Express band will rock the night away. This year free face painting will be offered to the young and young at heart.
The first ‘Christmas in the Creek’ event was held in 1996. So, this will be our Twentieth anniversary. Many children who attended early events are now bringing their own children to the festival” Jayne remarked. It has continued as a wonderful community event, run with the combined efforts of the Albany Creek Rotary, Apex, Lions and St Johns Ambulance as great partnership.
This event continues to receive great support with Moreton Bay Regional Council and Ray White Albany Creek as principal sponsors. Other local businesses also donate items that we offer as prizes on the night. This year there will again be awards for the best Christmas outfit for a child, adult and family.
“Albany Creek Rotarians are proud that we have always been able run Christmas in the Creek as a free family event where people can catch up at this special time of year and relax and enjoy our very special community.” Jayne said.
