Mercy Disability Services will be hosting an Expo on Friday 24th February 2012 to provide a “one stop shop” for information on services for people living with a disability, their families and their carers.

This free event will provide an opportunity for people to secure information about education or employment options, respite and leisure services, advocacy, housing and money management.

There will be over 30 service providers, community groups and agencies that will be accessible to Expo visitors.

Mr. Christopher Scott, former Australian Paralympic Cyclist will be the Special Guest Speaker.

Former Wallaby Centre, Steve Kefu will be a special guest for the event. Steve will be available for autographs.

There will be free information workshops on various subjects. These include the Public Trust of Queensland, Planning for the Future Department of Communities – Community Access Team - New Service Access, Skilling Solutions Queensland – What is Skilling Solutions Qld?, Micah Projects – Mental Health & Disability Support Services, Office of Adult Guardian – Roles & Functions of the Adult Guardian, Workscope Inc. - “So You’re thinking of getting a job….”

A free sausage sizzle will commence at 12pm.

Mercy Disability Services is inviting people with a disability, carers, family members, service providers, community organisations, people from the wider community and key stakeholders from the disability and welfare sectors to be a part of this event by attending on the day.

This Expo will be hosted by Mercy Disability Services and funded by CRAqld (Catholic Religious Australia, Queensland)
