Date and Location

River Quay Green
South Bank QLD

Run in the Dark is a fundraiser event for the Mark Pollock Trust, an organization dedicated to funding research towards treatments and a cure for paralysis

The 6th anniversary of Run In The Dark Brisbane will offer runners/joggers/walkers a 5km single loop and a 10km double loop around both sides of the beautiful Brisbane river. The course runs past some of Brisbane's most iconic landmarks and bridges.

Meeting point will be on the River Quay Green from 7.15pm for a warm up prior to 7.30pm start.

Starting from the River Quay Green, runners follow the river towards the Queensland Maritime Museum, turn left and go over the Goodwill Bridge. At the end of the Goodwill Bridge, runners turn left and then follow the Bicentennial Bikeway all the way to the Go Between Bridge. The course then crosses the Go Between Bridge and loops back underneath the rail bridge to join the pathway along the river. Runners then run along the river past GoMA, the State Library, QPAC, the Wheel of Brisbane and finishing on the Clem Jones Promenade near Wheel of Brisbane.

The 10km entrants carry on for another loop finishing in front of the Wheel of Brisbane.

The Run in the Dark started as an idea on a notepad and has grown from several hundred people running around Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) in 2011, to a global event of 25,000 people. This year, with a global target of $500,000, Run in the Dark will help to fund more global collaborations and multi-subject research trials.
