"Black Hole" aims not just to give the voiceless a voice but also asks us to examine the future of coal, corporate responsibility and the rights governments afford to people vs polluters.

With the Labor government announcing last week that they will veto the $1 billon NAIF loan, it is clear that people power is working. However, this is just a small win in a big fight. Adani are starting work on their Carmichael coal mine in central Queensland, and already we are seeing community members and ordinary Australians taking extraordinary action on the frontlines to #StopAdani. From Bentley and The Franklin, to Jabiluka and the Keystone Pipeline, we know that people power works and non-violent direct action can and will stop this monstrous project.

However,WE NEED YOUR HELP this work isn’t cheap. Travel, court and other expenses are asignificant barrier for many people taking this crucial action.
PLEASE come along on Thursday 16th November, to see the inspiring Black Hole, a 2015 documentary from Melbourne-based filmmaker João Dujon Pereira. The film depicts coal, corruption and community resistance to Whitehaven's Maules Creek Coal Mine, one of Australia's most controversial projects. The film is an intense and riveting exposé of the tensions between large corporations, the Australian government and the community. You’ll also be able to catch up on what is happening on the frontlines, and learn more about what you can do to get involved in stopping Adani.

Entry is $10 and there’ll be popcorn, treats and a raffle with some awesome prizes donated by supportive local businesses.

Spread the word and invite your friends, and together, we will #StopAdani.
