Around 1998 4ZZZ, 4MBS, and Family Radio started broadcasting from the one installation at Mt Coot-tha. Prior to this 4MBS and Family Radio had merely leased land beside 4ZZZ but then Brisbane City Council decided that having three transmission towers and huts in the one place was an eyesore and encouraged the three radio stations to share facilities. This resulted in the three radio stations developing a company called Broadcasting Park to negotiate with the Council. This company consisted of three shares, one owned by each member station.

Get Shortened, a blog and accompanying twitter account that sprung up about a year ago, is a social media pair featuring commentary and discussion on Australia’s political sphere.
@Get_Shortened, the twitter handle, is likely to be known to those familiar with the #auspol tag and had been one that had been deliberately kept gender neutral.
While it remained androgynous for some time it turns out the one pulling the strings was Amy Mullins, a university student and blogger from Melbourne. When she came out as a woman she was very surprised by the response indeed; suddenly she was treated differently and this response to her gender revelation was something she found quite surprising.
Stephen Stockwell caught up with Amy to find out how unexpected the reaction was.

Amy has also written a piece for the ABC’s Drum website about her experience. Have a gander at that here - http://www.abc.net.au/unleashed/2786334.html
