Pope Benedict has labeled same-sex marriage as a threat to the future of humanity, during an address held in Rome earlier this week.

The Pope highlighted his firm opposition to same-sex marriage, stating that “pride of place goes to the family, based on the marriage of a man and woman.”

Alex Greenwich, from Australian Marriage Equality, argues that Pope Benedict’s comments will not impact same sex marriage developments so far.
