Activists sympathetic to the Egyptian revolution celebrated the anniversary of the Egyptian revolution last week, while those struggling for democracy in Egypt used the time to redouble their efforts and strengthen their cause.
Indeed many of the thousands of those who stood packed in Cairo's Tahrir Square just days ago would not have characterised their demonstration as a celebration, but a show of will and determination that the revolution they cherish should not wither away.
Steven Riggall spoke with Australian-based Egyptian revolutionary activist and Convenor of the April 6 movement Reham Maklad of the successes of the revolutionary movement and the attempts the military council have made to undermine support for the cause and create divisions among its members.
