Two tomatoes, both red on the outside, both juicy on the inside. But one's different to the other. Genetically modified food is becoming more common in today's society. With reasons such as improving the life of crops or creating a more appealing fruit there is little research done into the potential impacts it may have on the human body.
On the 25th of May, a march will happen in Brisbane Square against Monsanto and other gene technology companies.
The march will begin at 2PM in Brisbane Square and will raise awareness of genetically modified crops in Australia and show support for local farmers.
Brisbane Line reporter Pak Yiu had a chat with Associate Professor Richard Hindmarsh from Griffith University and Monique Mitchelson, organiser of the March Against Monsanto Brisbane.
