Visa Changes to Affect Hundreds of Refugees

Yesterday it was revealed that Peter Dutton and the federal government are planning to change visa requirements to crack down on asylum seekers from Nauru and Manus Island who came to Australia to receive medical treatment. About 100 refugees who are on a temporary medical visa will be moved to ‘final departure E bridging visa’. The changes mean the refugees will be kicked out of their accommodation and off welfare, and many could be forced to return to Nauru or their home country.
