QLD Government offers new pay deal

The Queensland Government has a new approach to end bitter disputes with unions threatening industrial action.

The government will offer a new pay deal including 2.2 per cent a year pay rise. The new deal does not include a freeze on pay rises within salary bands, which is a key element that has angered unions. Public sector union, Together, said it’s a step in the right direction but job security is the biggest issue for members. It said the new offer does nothing to address this concern and is a panicked attempt by the government to try head off industrial action.
