Philippines still reeling from floods

So far the nation’s Civil Defence Office has received reports of 49 casualties, most of which are suspected drowning victims. More than two million have been affected by Manila’s worst flooding since 2009. Social Welfare Secretary, Dinky Soliman, says that the displaced people who had crowded evacuation centres have now begun to “trickle back” into Manila and outlying provinces where flood-waters have subsided.
