Townsville Turtle Deaths rise to 73

The amount of sick green sea turtles washing up on the beaches of Townsville has showed no sign of slowing down, with another two found last Friday on Wunjunga Beach, 100 kilometres south of Townsville.

Queensland Authorities have carried out 2 helicopter surveys after more than 20 different species, mostly adult females washed up on beaches around Upstart Bay last week.

The total of dead turtles has now reached 73, and scientists say they still have no explanation for the bizarre phenomenon.
