QLD driveways up for rent

Brisbane’s steeply priced parking fees in the CBD have led residents to adopt a new strategy to overcome the controversial problem.

Numerous Brisbane residents are now leasing their driveways and garages to motorists, with some making up to $120 a week.

The Brisbane City Council, however, has warned that this practice is illegal as it is essentially considered a business, which under local law requires city planning approval.
