Before 4ZZ could start broadcasting in 1975, a transmitter was ordered from the U.S. But after it was lost on the dock in New York, 4ZZ's chief engineer at the time Ross Dannecker built the station's first transmitter.
Damning report into ADF accusations
A report on sexual abuse in the Australian military has found that rapists who were never prosecuted could be still in senior positions in the Australian Defence Force.
Defence Minister Stephen Smith says the allegations of abuse will shock some people.
A royal commission, formal apologies and compensation were some of the options available to correct the situation.
The report by law firm DLA Piper says boys as young as 13 suffered sexual and physical abuse.
