Bush Turkey Fatality

A bush turkey is the latest fatality in a spate of cruel attacks on animals in Moorooka, after the bird was fatally wounded by a bow and arrow last week.

RSPCA officers managed to trap the turkey late last week, which had been roaming for almost 2 weeks with the arrow still in its body.

RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty says a number of animals come into the wildlife hospital that have been shot with arrows in the last 3 weeks, including a wallaby on the Gold Coast, a curlew in Fig Tree Pocket, three horses with possible arrow wounds, a possum in Norman Park shot with a spear gun plus this bush turkey from Moorooka.

Mr Beatty has urged anyone with information about the incident to call the RSPCA.
