LNP dropped from approval process
Campbell Newman’s Liberal National Party has been dropped from the approval process of major projects and mines in the state.
Instead a bilateral process has been brought in, meaning decisions made on projects will be agreed upon by both the state and federal governments.
The agreement was brought in to avoid a repeat of the Alpha coal mine dispute and gives the federal government greater control over how major projects in the state are handled.
