UK proposes bill aimed at monitoring citizens web activity

The UK government has proposed a draft bill that would allow them to monitor citizens’ day-to-day lives by tracking their online activity, calls, text messages and mail.

The draft bill proposes that the data would be kept for up to a year, allowing authorities to browse through the information at any time.

Home Office Secretary Theresa May said that the proposals are “sensible and limited” and ordinary citizens will have “nothing to worry about from this new law”.
