Greens Senator continues a campaign against pulp mill

Tasmanian Greens Senator Peter Whish-Wilson has used his maiden speech in the Senate to continue a campaign against the Gunns’ Tamar Valley pulp mill.

Whish-Wilson, who took over former Greens leader Bob Brown’s seat in the Senate, has been a long time opponent of the mill and says it is one of Australia’s most bitter environmental battles.

He said he hopes to continue Bob Brown’s legacy of fighting for important causes close to his heart.
