Assange told to hand himself over to London police

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been issued a letter requesting that he present himself to London police by Friday.

Assange is in London seeking political asylum inside Ecuador's embassy in order to prevent extradition to Sweden, where he awaits questioning by police in regards to alleged sex offences.

A spokesperson for the London Metropolitan police said that if Assange fails to surrender then he will be in breach of his bail conditions and liable to arrest.
