Before 4ZZ could start broadcasting in 1975, a transmitter was ordered from the U.S. But after it was lost on the dock in New York, 4ZZ's chief engineer at the time Ross Dannecker built the station's first transmitter.
Fears over taxi subsidy review
Premier Campbell Newman has announced an expert panel will review the travel subsidy scheme.
Disability advocates are fearful a review into the taxi subsidy could leave people with disabilities even more out of pocket.
Newman has revealed membership of the scheme has almost doubled since the last review in 2008 and there are concerns over the sustainability of the program.
Director of the Queensland Advocacy, Ken Wade fears the review “is going to be a mechanism for finding another way of taking money out of the subsidy scheme”.
