Russia set to ban same sex couples from adopting Russian children
The proposal was passed unanimously in the Duma lower house of parliament.
The amendments to Russia's family code will state that persons in a same sex marriage union who are registered in a state where such a union is allowed, as well as citizens of such states who are not married, will be banned from adoption.
President Vladimir Putin has already vowed to sign the bill into law if it is approved by the upper house.
