Coles to increase milk payments to Queensland dairy farmers
Murray Goulburn, owner of Devondale, said it could increase the standard milk price by 24 percent to $5.60 per kilogram thanks to changes to the milk payment system.
Queensland Dairyfarmers' Organisation President Brian Tessmann questioned the legitimacy of Coles’ announcement, saying “it is high time Coles stopped the ‘milk price war’ and re-established sustainable returns for dairy farmers”.
Coles has yet to announce if they will raise the actual price of milk in their supermarkets.
