No upgrade without a deal with Queensland Investment Corporation
More than $363 million was allocated to the Kingsford Smith Drive project in this year's budget estimates for future spending, but only $2.2 million was set to be spent this financial year.
The project would see the road widened from four lanes to six but funding is dependent on savings from a proposed deal with QIC to lease tolling rights on the Legacy Way Tunnel.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said while they were getting closer, there was no deadline for the deal.
