Star Wars’ Lego model is world’s largest

Thirty-two master Lego builders in the Czech Republic took four months to click together 5.3 million Lego pieces. The Starfighter is 13.1 metres long with a wingspan of 13.44 metres. Lego spokesman Michael McNally said: "The size and structural complexity of a freestanding model 42 times the size of one of our retail sets was a challenge they could not resist." The model is destined for permanent installation at Legoland in Carlsbad, California.
