On 14 December 1988, 4ZZZ was taken off air and forcibly evicted from its UQ premises by the then student union executive, headed by one Victoria Brazil. The move prompted many previously apolitical students to take a firm stand against the move and to rally support for the station. While Zed was not to return to the premises its' volunteers had helped hand-build, unprecedented community support saw the station live to fight another day.

The Taskforce Maxima Detective Inspector said, "We have had a warrant out for his arrest since March last year and have been going through the process of applying for extradition,"
It was that Broadbeach brawl which prompted Queensland's controversial Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment laws in the hope of curtailing bikie-related crime.
"We're very pleased we have been able to bring the matter to a resolution," the Inspector said.
The bikie was also wanted over an array of other charges. Mr Pechey is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrate Court on today.
