Mount Isa Council to hold public forums regarding water shortages

The Mount Isa City Council is hoping a public forum will help reduce the amount of misinformation regarding the water situation in the north-west Queensland city.

Drinking water supplies fell to just 6 per cent on Sunday, prompting the council to vote for the public forum at a council meeting this week and hopes to hold it in the coming weeks.

Councillor Brett Peterson says "we've got to start to work together on (this) …. letting the ratepayers and residents of Mount Isa know exactly what is going on."
