Police officers charged with theft, drug trafficking, misconduct in public office, and possessing the proceeds of crime

Two police officers have been charged over what has been described as one of the biggest leaks of sensitive information in the history of Victoria Police, following raids on outlaw motorcycle gangs in April 2013.

When raids were carried out on the three properties in Melbourne, officers found a significant number of police files, including details of informers who had assisted with investigations.

Victoria Police says that a senior constable and a constable from Melbourne's north-west had been charged with drug trafficking, theft, misconduct in public office and possessing the proceeds of crime, they are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
