Hepatititis B cases lead to national recall of mixed berries

A second brand of frozen mixed berries has been withdrawn from supermarket shelves after five cases of hepatitis B linked to the products, have been confirmed in Victoria and New South Wales.

The ban, which originally applied on Saturday to one kilogram bags of Nanna’s frozen mixed berries, has now been extended to Creative Gourmets mixed berries in 300 and 500 gram bags.

The berries, orriginally from China and Chile, were distributed from a Patties Food Distribution centre in Bairnsdale, East Victoria.

A full national recall has been initiated and people have been advised to not eat berries from the respective sized bags.
