4ZZZ launched its glorious tradition of counting down listeners' 100 favourite songs on New Year's Day 1977. More than 10 years later, 2JJJ in Sydney (which employed many ex-Zed staff) began conducting its own Hot 100. Because 4ZZZ held the rights to the name Hot 100, there was a little bit of legal biffo when TripleJ became a national broadcaster, so they changed the name of their survey to the "Hottest 100".
QLD Politics: Palaszczuk announces majority woman cabinet
Eight members of the 14-member cabinet are women, including Member for South Brisbane Jackie Trad and former Bligh government minister Kate Jones.
As promised in her electoral campaign, Ms Palaszczuk cut the cabinet size from 19 to 14 members in order to save $27million over the next three years.
Ms Palaszczuk and the Queensland Labor Party defeated the Liberal National Party 44 seats to 42, forming government with the support of Independent Peter Wellington.
