Sleepy US Supreme Justice admits she "wasn't 100 percent sober" at State of the Union

A United States Supreme Court Justice has admitted the reason why she was seen nodding off at President Obama’s state of the union was because she “wasn’t 100 per cent sober.”

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she couldn’t “resist the fine red California wine” brought in by Justice Anthony Kennedy at the traditional pre-dinner held for the justices before the annual speech.

The 81 year old justice was repeatedly pictured slumbering as President Obama addressed the nation on January 20.

The Supreme Court is the United States highest judiciary and has seen over some contentious decisions over the past decade from Citizens United to upholding Obamacare.
