150 People die in French Alp Airbus Crash

A Germanwings Airbus A-320 has come down over the French Southern Alps, killing all 150 people on board.

Foreign minister Julie Bishop confirmed this morning that two on board were Australian citizens.

The crash occurred 11am local time.

News of the crash has triggered grief throughout Spanish, Australian and German communities. Flight safety authorities have expressed confusion as to how the engine failed and why the crew did not make a distress signal. Investigations will continue.
