OPEN HOUSE 2016

Music is, or at least should be, for everyone. But sometimes not everyone feels comfortable, included or even safe in some spaces. However, with more and more events making it explicit that their spaces are inclusive and safe, this is beginning to change.   Featuring a lineup of some of Brisbane’s most exciting up and coming acts as well as a few out of towners, punters can expect an extravaganza of hip-hop, electronic music and more.   Headlining the night will be Melbourne’s friendships, an audio-visual duo heralded as one of Australia’s most exciting and important acts in dance music and beyond. Having just released their debut album that has already received rave reviews, this is not a set you’ll want to miss.   Rebel Yell, Rice Is Nice’s newest signee will also be performing, wrapping up a killer 2016 with her industrial rave music, as will Tiana Khasi as she gears up to take next year by storm with her neo-soul R&B. Gold Coast’s Jesswar will be delivering some fierce hip-hop whilst renowned party starters Sezzo Snot, Sullivan and Baby Mama will also keep things moving as three of Brisbane’s most prominent DJs.   Held at one of the city’s most loved live music venues, The Foundry, the good news doesn’t stop there as OPEN HOUSE will be raising funds for 4ZZZ, Brisbane’s community radio station.   OPEN HOUSE respectfully acknowledges the Turrbal and Jagera people, the Traditional Owners and Custodians on which The Foundry stands. OPEN HOUSE wants to welcome women, Indigenous Australians, non binary people and the LGBTQI+ community. Music is for everyone, and we want to put on a big party to celebrate all of us.
