- Seth Haley is a producer of many pseudonyms including the one with which we are here concerned - Com Truise. He has reserved this particular moniker to be the repository of all his most embarrasingly 80s synth fetishes. As a self-confessed synth tragic he has more than a few. In fact he had enough for 2 records. One was called Cyanide Sisters and was released 6 months or so ago, while this current opus only gets out of the gate now! Those of you who heard the first might be a little disappointed that there isn't much 'artistic development' between the pair - well, that's not very surprising. Those of you who haven't should please prepare yourselves for transport into the synthetic, science fiction soundtracks to yerster-year. Actually, Galactic Melt is a soundtrack to it's own imaginary film - the bio-pic of Com Truise - the world's first synthetic astronaut and his trip to a newly discovered galaxy. I'm guessing that with tracks like VHS Sex and Cathode Girls, there are some fairly sexy aliens awaiting our bold explorer. Even without getting inappropriately hot and sweaty with the rather saucy samples in those numbers, there's some fairly pounding synth action propelling Galactic Melt, making this feel like we're getting near to industrial territory - which is great because this is certainly an area of the 80s that hasn't been as thoroughly revived as others (...er, is it possible to revive somethig to death?). I think that might be why some people are impatient for the next thing from Seth Haley, because this is good - but it feels like he might have some even more exciting stuff up his sleeve.
