French Horn RebellionThe Infinite Music Of French Horn Rebellion
Stop Start / EMI

- I was a bit worried when I first saw this record that it would have nothing to do with the French Horn. Throw-away electronic music with an equally throw-away name ... and somehow that didn't seem right. Luckily I was the one who wasn't right. It turns out that French Horn Rebellion has everything to do with aforementioned shiny bit o' brass. Robert Perlick-Molinari was staring down the barrels of a career in the damn thing, but he turned to his brother David and said: "The hell with this." So the brothers left to make catchy neo-disco and electro which was set apart from everybody else's paltry attempts at the same because nobody else had access to the warm ringing of a French Horn to spill over their beats. The Infinite Music Of The French Horn Rebellion is even a concept album about a French Hornist's cosmic journey of destiny. Occasionally the proginess of that almost threatens to engulf the sweet electro-pop, but the boys have too much of an ear for a dance-floor hit to stumble on that hurdle. I'm not even sure these lads were signed to Stop Start when this record first came out, they have been doing well. This album has some rather unusual qualities, not the least being that despite them it appears to have success written all over it.
