- Moonface is the newest project in Spencer Krug's ongoing attempt to avoid ever slowing the hell down. To the best of my understanding, Krug appears to be a massive, multi-headed, musical man-beast. Already the leading man for both Wolf Parade & my old favourite Wolf Parade off-shoot Sunset Rubdown, enter Moonface, Krug's first venture into fully solo territory - which for this super-talented dude, was a good move. After releasing a single track, 20 minute EP, Dreamland: Marimba & Shit-Drums early last year and dropping a teaser track or two over the course of this year, debut LP, Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I'd Hoped, sees Krug really take flight, delivering 5 tracks of pulsating, hypnotic, synth fuelled jams, that slowly build into epic, throbbing climaxes, all anchored by the dude's distinct, other-worldly croon. You can stream Whale Song (Song Instead Of A Kiss) below and it is a perfect example of this: 8 minutes of build-up, throb & all round eerie-ness that I can't get enough of.
