- Panel Of Judges' loose, dischordant pop has always marked them as one of the more interesting Australian indie bands. 5 albums in and it could have been expected that the Panel might have been in a significantly darker place, given that its two main songwriters broke off their relationship just as their last album Bad Vibrations was laid to rest. Instead and quite uncharacteristic of anything I know about rock'n'roll Dion Nania and Alison Bolger appear to have become friends, started new relationships and are writing songs full of dreamy hope, optimism and, well, happiness. I feel like I should be listening to The Smiths and slitting my wrists to compensate for this unbridled positivity, but strike me if Panel of Judges hasn't got me smiling.
