Truth Serum started back in 2006 when rapper Skinz Marcus decided to compliment his rhymes with live music.

The sound they have achieved on Step Correct is not always heard by hip-hop artists and the 3 female vocalists add something to the mix that gives Truth Serum a definite sound of their own. In addition to their soulful vocal harmonies, there are Flute and Saxophone parts which really breathe life into every song on the EP.

The funk/jazz background of drummer Andrew Carter can be heard and seamlessly accompanies the hip-hop rhythms and bass lines played by the rest of the band.
