Youth Review: Dracula
By far my favourite horror production, Dracula featured a brilliant (and spooky!) cast. Audiences were left shaking in their seats (literally) after witnessing the horrors of Count Dracula played by Nick Skubji. Skubji’s performance was thrilling and seemed to literally transcend time and space with his teleportation skills!
The special effects, featuring blood sprays, pyro kinesis, and gravity defying stunts, were gripping and left me wondering, ‘How on Earth did they do that?!’ The innovative rotating set, combined with fantastic lightning and sound, gave a fresh and modern feel to the 19th century tale.
Despite the terror, Dracula still left time for some much-needed comic relief. It’s a fantastic performance that will have you quaking in your seat, clutching your neighbour one moment, and shaking with laughter the next.
A performance that received a standing ovation, I would recommend all horror fans to take a trip to Transylvania and dare to enter Dracula’s domain. Remember to watch your necks on the way in!
