  • Mass Effect 3 Review

Mass Effect 3 is the epic conclusion to the mass effect trilogy that carries your choices from each game to create an immersive experience.
  • Divinity 2: Ego Draconis

You know you've done something inherently wrong as a developer when a game that lets you turn into a motherfucking dragon leaves the player unsatisfied. Unfortunately, Larian Studios 2009 release does just that: like discount sushi or coffeepants the reality is not nearly as great as you think it will be.
  • Reverse Gaming: a look back at Evil Genius

Ever dreamed of taking over the world? Heading an evil empire? Ordering around swarms of minions and henchmen? Conjuring new and improved ways to torture your many enemies? Well, thanks to Elixir Studios 2004 release you can live out all your Bond villain fantasies from the comfort of your bedroom, without the constant threat of Archer busting down your bedroom door.
  • Dragon Age 2

The problem with a sequel, any sequel, is that everyone has an opinion on how it should be. The problem with trying to follow on from an RPG as complex, as completely engrossing as Dragon Age: Origins is that everyone is so much more passionate about the original and therefore unwaveringly precious about how they think the sequel should have been handled.
  • Dead Space 2

There is nothing more terrifying than empty space and the infinite possibilities than can be found within.
  • (Game) Rockstar Games - Red Dead Redemption

We’ve only been able to put about 15 hours of playtime in and split between three this means we really haven’t seen much of the world yet. Why do every day things like family and house moving and assignments come in between us and our wicky-wicky-wild-wild-west?
  • (Game) Sega - Sonic 4: Episode 1

When Sonic the Hedgehog was released almost two decades go on the Sega Genesis it became a classic; defining platform gaming for generations to come and spawning thousands of half-baked attempts at capturing the games playability and addictive nature. Sonic the hedgehog is now something of a video game icon, one of the most instantly recognised and loveable characters rivalled only by Nintendo’s Mario. It’s been 16 years since Sonic’s last appearance in a 2D scrolling platformer and this year sees the release of Sonic 4 on the iPhone as well as through PlayStation Network, WiiWare, and Xbox Live Arcade. Ultimately, the blue spiky-haired rodent fails to live up to the hype.
  • (Game) Id - Doom Resurrection

Id Software’s Doom franchise has been one of the most loved first person shooter series ever created. Ever since 1993’s Doom became one of the very first 3D FPS people have been blasting, sawing and obliterating demons, zombies and other monstrosities for over 17 years. In 2004 Id Software released Doom 3, a game designed for systems far beyond what was capable at the time. With its eerie realistic lighting and lush graphics Id had once again set the benchmark. Obviously Doom 3 is far too advanced for handhold mediums like the iPhone, so the designers created Doom: Resurrection, a modified version which is still equally as enjoyable.
  • (Game) Id Software - Wolfenstein 3D

Wolfenstein 3D stands as the very first 3D shooting game ever invented. In truth it’s not really 3D; it’s a form of scrolling that manipulates 2D frames to create a 3D-like environment. Obviously it looks dated compared to games like Call of Duty 4, but back in the day gunning down guards, through halls of Nazi paraphernalia was controversial stuff!
  • (Game) Squashy Software/Handmark Inc. - Platypus

There are moments when playing a video game when you can sometimes think “What the f**k were these guys smoking when they came up with the idea for this?” and you will most likely come to this realisation when playing Platypus. Despite the title, you will find no duck-billed monotremes here. Platypus is a space invader style shoot-em-up which was originally released back in 2002. The game went on to become a cult classic with its kooky animation, addictive gameplay and awesome soundtrack. I had fond memories of playing the demo version on my shitty home PC so when I saw it was released on iPhone, I jumped at the chance. Unfortunately when this game was ported, it really didn’t make the transition too well.
  • (Game) Gameprom/Sony Music - Slayer: Pinball Rocks

Slayer + a pinball machine = the most crazy-brutal game of pinball you’ll ever play, at all, ever. There are hundreds of pinball games for the iPhone, some good, some not so good. The question is, how do you choose? if you have to choose one, pick anything by Gameprom (Note: not Gamepr0n, there’s no porn here!) and out of Gameprom’s pinball apps, pick Slayer Pinball Rocks. With its 3D graphics and insane soundtrack it's a clear choice. I mean it seriously doesn’t get any cooler than Slayer pinball, right?
