Little BIGSOUND 2015

The Little Bigsound Conference took place for the fifth time at the Judith Wright Centre, located in Brisbane, on July 27th. A youth forum that takes place once a year, dedicated to help young artist gain knowledge that could help them boost their career to the top level.

With a great collection of national speakers, ranging from our very own Music Coordinator Chris Cobcroft, to Graham Ashton of Footstomp Music, who has worked with top tier acts like Radiohead and Powderfinger, and many other great names that can be found at: http://www.qmusic.com.au/?contentID=813

The conference provided panel sessions for everyone, like Branding, Networking and an “Honesty Corner With Australian Artists” where Sahara Beck, Jarryd Shuker, Danny Kenneally, and Dean McGrath talked about the hard work and dedication it takes to get yourself and your music out there, whilst being your own and having your own style, sound and an attention grabbing confidence.

Little Bigsound also provided two breakout sessions, where the young audience could choose between three different, more intimate sessions about different aspects of the industry. The first breakout sessions consisted of Marketing trends, Visual for filmmakers, photographers, graphic designers and illustrators who want to work in the music industry, and Electronic Music. The second one offered the following: Money and the different ways of generating income through the ever-changing music industry, DIY Recording, and Booking Gigs, getting the attention of venues and artist bookers.

Such a big youth music event couldn’t go without live performances. Here, “The Con & The Liar” and “Alex Crook” entertained the audience with some good music.

And as if that wasn’t enough already, the audience had a chance to talk freely with the artist in between sessions, at lunch (which was provided by the conference for free), or at the closing event, which they called “Coffee and Chat”; pretty much a self explanatory name.

The Little Bigsound Conference provides an amazing atmosphere, astonishing speakers from all corners of the music industry and invaluable knowledge to help you reach the uppermost of the music industry, this being as an artist, businessman, producer, graphic designer or anything you could imagine. Do not miss it next year.
