Around 1998 4ZZZ, 4MBS, and Family Radio started broadcasting from the one installation at Mt Coot-tha. Prior to this 4MBS and Family Radio had merely leased land beside 4ZZZ but then Brisbane City Council decided that having three transmission towers and huts in the one place was an eyesore and encouraged the three radio stations to share facilities. This resulted in the three radio stations developing a company called Broadcasting Park to negotiate with the Council. This company consisted of three shares, one owned by each member station.

We're a Brisbane 5 piece indie pop outfit with influences such as Belle & Sebastian, Doves, Broken Social Scene, Stars, The Smiths, The Reindeer Section, The Lucksmiths, The Lemonheads, Josh Pyke, Cloud Control, Little Scout, Feist, The Magic Numbers, Sarah Blasko, Paul Dempsey, The Strokes and Badly Drawn Boy.
3 Lismore boys migrate North for University. 13 years later, reacquainted on a skydiving trip, are joined by their skydiving instructors Scott and Kylie to form the aptly named 'The Better Mousetrap Treatment'. Scott and Kylie (a.k.a Sky-ly) had a side income earner - rodent extermination! However, foregoing the standard inmousane options to rid, they decided on other somewhat unorthodox paths, one of which nicely fitting in with their flying passion. Unlike humans, meece dropped out of a plane at height are sucked up to heaven, rather than plummeting to Earth. This is mainly due to their large ear to body ratio. The physics is a little difficult and wordy to explain in this short blurb, and frankly unnecessarily diverging off the topic of the band's music. In reality they don't really go to heaven, but get thrust into the increasingly thinning air atmospheres and eventually explode. We just say the heaven thing because kids tend to freak out with the truth. The Mousie's sound, highly influenced by aeroplanes, is deliciously nervous and new yet comforting with pockets packed full of hopeful chords, cloudant melodies and parachutal poppiness. There is a hint of earthiness in the lyrics as colourful crusts are met with every jump. Summing, we just like writing indie pop tunes and hopefully people will enjoy listening to them. With the first EP, Paper and Pictures, under our belt, we're excited to be presenting the next chapter by releasing our second this September.
