When 4ZZZ's original space was being built by hand under the Schonell Theatre at Queensland University, a baby grand piano from the theatre above was bricked in to Studio 3. We don't know how they got it out...
Blood Orange Juice
Formed in late 2008, Blood Orange Juice is a three piece jazz band based in Brisbane, Australia. Consisting of sax, bass and drums, Blood Orange Juice takes inspiration from low-rock band Morphine and the works of jazz great Charles Mingus.
In June 2010, we launched our debut album Ax Ace Rum. 18 instrumental tracks of arse kicking. From this our eponymous track "Blood Orange Juice (I Hope It's Not Too Sweet)" was nominated for the Q Music Encouragement Award at the 2010 Q Song Music Awards.
We have played at many venues around Brisbane such as The Globe Theatre, The Music Kafe, Alloneword and the Brunswick Street Mall.
