Candybomber

Merging infectious melody with chainsaw guitars and jangling loveliness producing 3 minute pop songs with melodies so catchy it actually hurts

Formed in Brisbane in early 2015, Candybomber is a 5-piece indiepop band that merges infectious melody with chainsaw guitars and jangling loveliness.

Influenced by The Wedding Present, Jesus & Mary Chain, Teenage Fanclub, The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine and The Pixies, Candybomber’s sound harks back to the golden age of indiepop, but with a modern edge.
Candybomber was formed by songwriter/guitarist Stewart who had previously released a number of EPs in the UK, USA, Germany and France as The Kensingtons. He is joined by drummer Anthony (ex-The Clues), singer Matt (formerly of The Tin Ravens), bassist Warren (former stalwart of the Brisbane hip hop scene recording as Toxic Al) and Fasel (ex-Motorway Ends) on guitar.
Their debut shows in Brisbane in 2015 showed what they do best: 3 minute pop songs with melodies so catchy it actually hurts.
Candybomber were recently selected to take part in the final QUT Indie 100 Project, recording the newly written tune “Everybody Knows” as their contribution.
Their debut EP will be released in early 2017.
