Dogs and Jackals

a 4 piece folk-tinged slightly loose alternative rock band from Brisbane, Australia

A bunch of high school mates, they finally got their arse into gear and started writing songs and practicing together in early 2011, 12 years after finishing school. With songs that cover topics from alcoholism, homelessness, imprisonment and the pitfalls of religion, you might expect a sombre display from the band however this is far from true. Assertive rhythms, versatile lead licks and passionate vocals ensure that the listener remains excited until the end of the show. Add in a splash of bright sounding mandolin, tambourines and the odd bit of old timey banjo and the scene is set. Having only played a handful of shows, this band is well and truly at the start of their careers but as experience and confidence mixes with their ready-made enthusiasm and maturity they will become a force of unimaginable proportions. Some might say a juggernaut. INFLUENCES INCLUDE: Joe Strummer, Frank Turner, Bad Religion and Against Me.
