Before 4ZZ could start broadcasting in 1975, a transmitter was ordered from the U.S. But after it was lost on the dock in New York, 4ZZ's chief engineer at the time Ross Dannecker built the station's first transmitter.

Having played shows with international acts such as Electrelane, Real Estate, Vivian Girls, Best Coast, Dead Meadow, Brian Chase & Seth Misterka and Earthless, Feathers have also shared the stage with local bands that include Witch Hats, Stabs, Fabulous Diamonds, Deaf Wish, Blank Realm and many more.
Falling under the influence of sixties girl group sounds and classic bands like Velvet Underground, Rolling Stones, 13th Floor Elevators and The Jesus and Mary Chain, Feathers create multit-layered hazy harmonies with simple yet structured magic melodies. They'll take you on a cosmic trip with their dark undertone of fuzzed out surf sounds.
