4ZZZ launched its glorious tradition of counting down listeners' 100 favourite songs on New Year's Day 1977. More than 10 years later, 2JJJ in Sydney (which employed many ex-Zed staff) began conducting its own Hot 100. Because 4ZZZ held the rights to the name Hot 100, there was a little bit of legal biffo when TripleJ became a national broadcaster, so they changed the name of their survey to the "Hottest 100".
KiddnKelly Gang are a four piece band with 2 guitars, ukulele, double bass and drums (brushes with suitcase). We perform originals and covers of alt country, folk/pop and blues tunes.
The KiddnKelly Gang are: Glenn "Cisco" Kidd on guitar, harmonica and vocals, Brenda Lee Kelly on guitar, ukelele and vocals, Craig "Billy" Tobin on drums and Anne-Marie "Dolly" Lawton on double bass. Glen and Brenda are both song writers who write about love gone wrong, old family yarns, places in Queensland as well as the occasional story about that “Little Girl in Mexico or “Kirra Beach Boy Baby”.
Our live shows blend folk and alt country blues with an Australian Twang that bears to mind “parties under the house with balloons tied to cement posts” or “margaritas on the back verandah” creating an atmosphere where the story paints the picture.
