Before 4ZZ could start broadcasting in 1975, a transmitter was ordered from the U.S. But after it was lost on the dock in New York, 4ZZ's chief engineer at the time Ross Dannecker built the station's first transmitter.
The Late Great Russian Revolution
The band “The Late Great Russian Revolution” started its life some four odd years ago as an instrumental band with just one guitar and one drums. The idea was to simply play tunes with the two instruments using as many varying degrees of energy as was possible, i.e. darkness and light, quick and slow etc. We wanted to explore that special relationship that has always existed between the two instruments. Many lessons were learned and some love from the audience was even received.
Not wanting to stand still, time gave birth to a slightly different animal and more standard song writing techniques have been employed. Vocals and “rant” have now been added to these songs. Stories are now told along with the music. A bass injects an extra dynamic to help complete the sound. Many of the original two piece playing techniques have been maintained. We hope you enjoy what is an offering of our heart and soul through this self funded CD.
How well you live matters, not how long. (Russian proverb) TLGRR
