Laura Mardon

Once Londoner, now Gold Coast based Folk-Punk singer Laura Mardon is influenced by people like Bill Bragg, Kimya Dawson and Elliott Smith.

Writing heart felt songs about disconnect, loss and love, Laura’s Songs wrap true to life story telling in softly sung melodies and gentle guitar parts.

In 2013, Laura met Joey Cape after he saw a YouTube video of her playing original song Hail, Hail The Dead Can Dance.

After talking about their shared love of good music, demo tapes and song writing, Joey invited Laura to his home studio in San Francisco to record an album for his new record label One Week Records.
Since releasing her debut album One Week Record, Laura has toured Australia and is set to embark on a UK-European tour.
