Queer Radio still holds the record at 4ZZZ for the most people in one studio at a time - 18!
Fresh from overseas touring, an award winning second album, Legless now prepare for the next chapter in their colourful and prolific career, launching their third studio album “Diva Demolition”.
Schoolgirl Amanda – Kylie Cowling – vocals, bass guitar
Policewoman Shazza – Sherree Newton – guitar, vocals
Nurse Jade – Jade Jeon – drums, vocals.
Legless get their attitude and inspiration from the great rock bands of our time, such as The Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Guns ‘n’ Roses and Joan Jett. Throw some punk and glam rock into the mix (think Sex Pistols, Kiss and Alice Cooper) then add a dash of Aussie greats such as ACDC, Living End, Radiators, British India , The Divinyls and the Hoodoo Gurus.
Legless have been described as “The Bangles gone Mad” and they are compared to female fronted acts such as “The Donna’s” and “X-Ray Specs”. More recently the 80’s Aussie Rock is a tag that has been linked to the new single “Stunt Girls” which is unashamedly inspired by Aussie greats ACDC.
It’s an Australian tradition to drink piss and listen to live music, but there’s much more to it than that. Legless would be a novelty, if the girls didn’t play so well and have come this far.
In the tradition of Chrissie and Angus and all our cult rock heroes... the Schoolgirl, the Policewoman and the Nurse are the perfect entertainment package and a sure guarantee to get the bar takings ticking over on a memorable night!
Their songs are fun and easy to digest. Legless embrace the pub music culture and somehow twist it around to win audiences over with their strength of original material. Legless are right at home playing original and cover band venues, successfully selling their merchandise and original albums.
