Silver Sircus

ex isis stitched superlative sect

Silver Sircus haunts the shadows between dark cabaret and theatrical
performance. With a sensual and highly visual aesthetic, the band draws on
post-rock and minimalist groove to carve its own niche. As much at home in a
large venue as an intimate cabaret or spoken word setting, co-creators
Lucinda Shaw and James Lees stitch together each distinctive Silver Sircus
show. Starting out as a trio in 2007, the band has now collected together
seven superlative Brisbane musicians, including guitarist Mark Angel
(Charles Foster Kane), bass guitarist Terry Dixon (Charles Foster Kane, Kate
Bradley), violinist Sallie Cambell (Tulipan, Speed of Purple, Deep Blue),
cellist Wayne Jennings (The Red Paintings, The Ragtag Band, Deep Blue), and
pianist Parmis Rose (Astrid & The Asteroids). Singer-songwriter and
performer Lucinda Shaw (theatre credits include La Boite's Shock of the New,
Magdalena Theatre Festival) and composer and percussionist James Lees (The
Good Ship, Bertie Page Clinic) worked together on four CDs and numerous
shows for Brisbane mainstay ISIS, and have co-produced performance and music
events for Brisbane Pride and Brisbane Cabaret Festivals. Silver Sircus
have performed for the Queensland Poetry Festival ('08), Brisbane Cabaret
Festival ('09), Adelaide Fringe Festival ('09), headlined Brisbane Pride
Festival Fair Day ('10) and Melbourne Fringe Festival ('11). In 2012,
Silver Sircus release new EP "Come Back As You", full length album "To The
Place That Is Home" and expanded reissues of their first two CD's
"Sovereignty" and "Dark Back Garden
